Wednesday Evening September 26, 2018

We had a really short turnout this evening but we we managed to keep the Ladies from outnumbering the guys, there were three of each, and If you count the Spirit of the Lord that made seven of us, and we were blessed.

Royce was elected to call to order since we were so short, so we asked for any prayer requests and did have a couple, and John Hamilton lead us in prayer.

We, well mostly them, then sang “Nothing But The Blood”, and “The Glory Land Way”.

Juanita had the devotion for the evening and she chose a couple of Psalms, 111, and 115. There was some good discussion on these Scriptures, and John read Malachi 4:6 and there was some discussion on that. Also Matthew 10:32-33 and Acts 7:54.

Brother John has agreed, until such time as a Pastor can be sent to us, to have a short devotion for us on Wednesday evenings after the devotion is done by one of the attendees.

Our meeting was then closed by Juanita in prayer.

Sunday Morning September 23, 2018

We had a small gathering for services this morning and that is OK, the spirit of the Lord was there with us.

Mac opened the services asking for prayer requests and praise reports. Prayer was offered by John Hamilton.

The opening song was “Higher Ground”

After the Pledges to the Flags and Bible Sunday School was called, where the adult class studied the folly of Jeroboam, who made not one but two golden calves to worship and caused the children of Israel to worship these for fear that if they went to Jerusalem to worship at the temple they would turn to Rehoboam who was king in Jerusalem. It was a good lesson in how to make the Lord very angry very quickly.

After Sunday School the “Coins for Christ” offering was collected.

We then had worship in song singing “Because He Lives”, “I Never Shall Forget The Day”, “What a Lovely Name” and “If We Never Meet Again”

The Morning Offering was then taken up, after Which Peggy Sang “Jesus Is Living In Me”.

Mac and Sara sang “I Want To Know More About My Lord”

John Hamilton sang “Speak My Lord”

Our morning guest speaker, Brother Danny Douglas then gave us the message titled “God Deals In the Impossible”, using the text from Nehemiah 1: 4-11. A very timely message and well received.

The closing song was “Take The Name Of Jesus With You”.

Sunday Morning September 16, 2018

There were several prayer requests this morning and and prayer was led by Mac, as I remember.

Pledges to the flags and Bible were repeated by all.

I will have to edit this post to reflect the opening song today.

Sunday School classes were then taken up and our new teacher John Hamilton did a good job of bringing the lesson found in I Kings chapters 9 through 11, dealing with King Solomon and his failure to follow all the precepts of the Lord.

After Classes were back in the coins for Christ were collected. This program is used to support various children’s charities in the local area.

We then sang “I Want To Know More About My Lord”, “I Never Shall Forget The Day”, “What A Lovely Name”, “The Sweetest Song I Know”, “Turn Your Radio On” and “I’ll Have a New Life”.

Juanita and Peggy then sang “When I Take My Vacation In Heaven”

Sharon and Peggy sang “Keep Me Safe Till The Storm Passes By”.

And Mac and Sara sang “Are You Washed In The Blood”.

Gladys then gave a little talk on why we should be sharing our faith in Jesus with others.

John Hamilton then brought us a message from II Timothy 4:7-8.

A very timely message on what it means to be persevering and keeping the faith. We do appreciate John for his willingness to step in and preach for us on occasion, while we are in search of who it is that the Lord wants to lead our little flock.

I must add as a personal note that it was a little bit of a bittersweet service for me as the realization is setting in that Pastor Gregg is no longer with us, but I know that God has a good leader in store for our little church and we need to wait on him to figure out who it is, and not get in too big a rush to fill the position until we know it is who should be there.

Sunday Evening September 9, 2018

It was a rather long afternoon while waiting for evening service time to come around. I did go over to the church early to sort out some paper that I had been given to print the church bulletins on and by the time I got that done it was almost time to show up for services.

We did have several show up and we did discuss some of what we all thought we should be thinking about doing, to keep the church going. While no decisions were made officially we did decide to wait until Wednesday evening to discuss our situation further.

Mac opened the meeting in prayer, we then sang “Send the Light”, Turn Your Radio On”, I’d Rather Be An Old Time Christian”, The Son Hath Made Me Free”, I’ll Fly Away”, I’d Rather Have Jesus” and “I Never Shall Forget The Day”

Mac and Sara sang “The Old Country Church”

Sharon, Peggy and Juanita sang “Search The Book Again”

John Hamilton then recited a poem he had written titled “He Loved Me” very well done.

Vic and Carol then sang “Thank You Lord For Your Blessings On Me” and “The Anchor Holds”

Vic then brought the message from II Peter 3:10-18 admonishing the christian people to be ready for the coming of the Son Of God.

Royce then dismissed the service in prayer.

Sunday Morning September 9, 2018

What a beautiful morning a little bit damp, as it had rained, but just overcast skies. I did get to attend Sunday School and Church today, and everything seemed to be going along almost as normal until I discovered that I had made a mistake in the Church Bulletin and, failed to delete the monthly singing — for last month, it was still in the coming events. Oh well it was already printed and I could not change it in time.

Mac opened asking for prayer requests and there were a few. Mac led us in prayer. We then sang “Love will roll the clouds away”. Pledges to the flags and bible were repeated. Sunday School classes were then called up.  Our adult class studied the building of Solomon’s Temple in I Kings Chapters 5-8 there is a lot of material there to cover in a 45 minute class Pastor Gregg did a good job on teaching this lesson today.

We then took up the Coins for Christ collection and sang “I Want To Be Ready To Meet Him”, I Never Shall Forget The Day”, I Know I’m Saved” and “What A Lovely Name”

Peggy and Juanita then sang “Will The Circle Be Unbroken”.

Peggy and Sharon sang “Sheltered In The Arms Of God”.

Mac and Sara sang “Amazing Grace”

Pastor Gregg then brought the message titled “Just Like The Cross Some Things Are Not As They Appear” using II Thessalonians 2:1-3 as his text.

Talking about the end times and the fact that there is to be a falling away of the church.

It seemed that everything was normal but then our Pastor informed us of his intention to resign as Pastor of the church.

There was some discussion and much prayer.

It is my hope that Pastor Gregg, will reconsider, or that the Lord will adjust his intentions, however it is my belief that the Lord has a plan and it is a good one, and He will work this out to His Glory.

I have no intention of taking Gregg off this website as Pastor of Happy Home Church for at Least 30 days. It is also my hope and wish that Gregg has the blessing of the Lord, in all he does. My support and best wishes are with you my Brother in Christ.

Wednesday August 29, 2018

Three Services in a row that I have been able to attend. It is a good thing to be in Church sometimes. Well most of the time.

This evening Pastor Gregg started off asking for prayer requests or praise reports, and there were some of both. John Hamilton led us in prayer.

We then sang “Just Over In The Glory-Land”

John Wiesbrod then had the devotion on St. John Chapter 3, What a wonderful chapter containing possibly the most often memorized, as well as the most often quoted passage of Scripture in the entire Bible John 3:16. There actually was quite a lot of discussion on this chapter. It starts off telling that Nicodemus, came to Jesus by night, I just wonder if Nicodemus had known that his actions in the dark were going to be immortalized in Scripture if he would still have talked to Jesus?

What a beautiful passage of Scripture. I am glad to get into that scripture once in a while.

We then discussed the Prophet Ezekiel a little bit what a vision he had. To see all the glorious beings that are in the very presence of God.

Pastor Gregg then dismissed us in prayer.

Sunday Evening August 26, 2018

Two services in a row, I am on a roll, I enjoyed the evening service even though we had a visiting minister for this evening, as our Pastor Gregg has to be at work at 5:30 in the morning in Afton Oklahoma. Our prayers are with him through the early morning hours of driving to get there.

Prayer requests were taken and Bro. John Weisbrod led in prayer.

We had several songs this evening starting with “Amazing Grace” and His Grace really is amazing. We followed that with ” How Great Thou Art” and He really is GREAT. We ended the singing with “Turn Your Radio On”.

Peggy and Juanita then sang “Church In The Wildwood” this song is about a real church in Nashua, Iowa. This Church was built between 1860 and 1864. The song was written in 1857, by William S. Pitts.

Mac and Sara then sang “Just A Little Talk With Jesus” If you have never tried it,  have a little talk with Jesus and see what you can accomplish as you follow the direction of the Spirit of God.

Vic and Carol then sang “Sheltered In The Arms Of God” and “Consider The Lilies”

Vic then presented the message and used II Thessalonians 2:1-4 and Revelation 6:1-11 Talking about being ready for the return of our Lord, and the “End Times”. Bro. Vic had a very good presentation and we all really should consider the “Times” we are in and make sure that our hearts are in the right place before that time comes.

John Hamilton then dismissed in prayer.

Sunday Morning August 26, 2018

I was blessed to be able to attend Sunday School and Church this morning. Prayer requests were talked about as there is an effort to revamp the Prayer Request list for the Church Bulletin. And then Bro. John Hamilton led in prayer.

Pledges were then repeated to the Flag of the United States, The Christian Flag and the Bible.

Sunday School classes were then taken up and our adult class finished up the last two chapters of Colossians. There was some really good discussion on these passages of Scripture.

After Classes Our Church Kids took up the Coins for Christ collections. It is a blessing to have a few kids who attend on a regular basis.

The singing was done with Peggy playing the piano and singing “Inside The Gate”, “Beulah Land”, and “Heavens Jubilee”.

Mac and Sara sang “Precicous Memories”

John and Autumn sang “Wayfaring Stranger”

Pastor Gregg delivered the Message titled “None Are Despised”

The text he used was taken from Job 36: 1-6 and Daniel 7: 9 and 7:13-14

This is talking about God, and what power he has. God does not despise any one for any reason. God wants all men to come to know the loving side of the most powerful omnipotent God, but he is not going to force anyone to do so, and at some point he will destroy those who will not accept the gift of salvation. But he does not despise even those that will chose to destroy themselves by rejecting God.

This was a very thought provoking message, and I was blessed to be in attendance this morning.

The closing hymn was “Near The Cross”

Brother Mac Dismissed in Prayer. I think it was Mac anyway.

Wednesday August 22,

Finally….. I was able to attend a service, I have had to miss 3 or 4, It was a really good feeling to be back in and to be able to worship with the Church Family.

There were several prayer requests that were brought in and Pastor Gregg led us in prayer.

We then sang “Because He Lives”

John Hamilton was the leader of the devotion this evening and he presented several scriptures discussing the way to become a “son of God” which can be summed up in a nutshell “you must be born again”

A really good devotion and there was some good discussion.

After John finished there was another John who volunteered to lead next week. I hope I can be there for that.

Pastor Gregg then had the 145th Psalm read each of us reading one verse and then Gregg finished it up.  There was then some discussion on that passage of scripture.

Royce then dismissed the meeting with prayer.

Not just slacking here…

I have missed the last three services, and tonight is not looking good right at the moment. I am still hopeful that I will get to attend.

It has been crazy busy in my life, and I am not complaining but when I have to work it is usually kind of important in someone else’s life.

I just wanted to put a post on to let the world know that I have not given up on this blog.
