Wednesday Evening March 21, 2018

John W opened the meeting by asking for any new prayer requests, of which there were several. He then led the group that was assembled in prayer.

We were very happy to have our pianist present and we sang “I never shall forget the day”

John H led our devotions and he had selected Psalms 40: 1-3

1. I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.
2. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.
3. And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord.

In this Psalm David is apparently coming out of some trying times or discouragement and has, finally given up to, wait upon the Lord, which is what the Lord wants us to do.  David is then blessed with 8 different blessings

1. He inclined unto me
2. He heard my cry
3. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit
4. Out of the miry clay
5. He set my feet upon a rock
6. He established my goings.
7. And he hath put a new song in my mouth
8. Even praise unto our God

There was quite a lot of discussion on the blessings that the Lord has given each one of us.

Peggy dismissed us with a prayer.

On a personal note I seem to find it astonishing the amount of inspiration that can come out of such a seemingly short passage of scripture. But it happens over and over again throughout the Bible.

I personally thank God that I can read his word and He will show me what he wants me to be getting at that time. I, like many before me, have read the same passage of Scripture at different times and been blessed with totally different meanings.

A repost from Bryce Mings

The following is a repost from Bryce Mings and was posted on the Ava General Baptist facebook page.

How can YOU be forgiven? Check this out from a FILLED student Bryce Mings!

Our sins can be forgiven IF YOU ASK to be AND BELIEVE in the lord with all your heart and follow him where he leads u spiritually.
The way to do this is by reading and studying his word with all the things he has done in time for others and throughout the Bible it shows us what we need to do if we wanna be in his Kingdom with him.
Like it says in john 3:16 he loves us SO much he gave up his ONLY Son for our sins which shows us how much he loves us and that we should be humble and show glory to god.

The way that god has changed my life is by all the things that I had struggled with in my life I didn’t have god in my life didn’t go to church but when I started to go and got saved and baptized it changed my life dramatically

Sunday Evening March 18, 2018

The Sunday evening service was started by asking for prayer requests, and after mentioning that several of our members were not present a prayer circle was formed and Pastor Moseley and John Hamilton led us in prayer.

It had been planned to have a group session on witnessing so we immediately retired to the fellowship hall to have discussions on what we can, and maybe what we should and even maybe on what we should not do in witnessing to other people about Jesus and his love for humanity.

There actually was a lot of discussion and a lot of experiences were discussed. While there were no plans actually laid down for the church to follow as far as a witness program is concerned it was, in my opinion the consensus of those in attendance that we should personally witness to those we meet and those around us when we can get or make opportunity.

Sunday Morning March 18, 2018

Sunday School was started off by our Sunday School leader Mac and Pledges to the Flags and Bible were given.

There was some discussion in the adult class on what we can do to witness for Christ. We did get around to studying the Scripture lesson in 1 Samuel Chapter 18. Which was speaking about the Fear that King Saul had for David, and Also about the Friendship that King Saul’s eldest son Jonathan had with David.

The worship portion of the service was started off by singing “I want to know more about my lord”, “The Sun’s Coming Up”and “Turn your Radio On” It was really nice to have our pianist back with us this morning after having been ill for several services.

Peggy then sang “Had it not been for Mt. Calvary” followed by John singing “I’m Going There” and John (the elder one) singing “Things are different now” and ending up with Mac and Sara doing “Heavens Jubilee”

The offering was then taken up and it was like a breath of fresh air to look up and see our children coming in the doors. We do not have a lot of kids in our congregation but they are certainly appreciated.

Pastor Gregg then gave the Message for the morning titled “Christ– Our Constant Companion” From Isaiah 4:1-8. talking about friendship.  and asking those present to go home and read Luke chapter 7.

The service was then closed with the song, “What a Friend we have in Jesus” and truly He is our friend.

This being the 3rd Sunday was the monthly church dinner and all retired to the fellowship hall to enjoy a sumptuous fare of beans, cornbread, fried potatoes, salad, a Brussels Sprouts casserole and Chocolate Pie and Lemon squares.

I want to remind everyone that we will be having a singing fish fry on March 30, 2018 Food and fellowship at 5:00 PM and the Singing at 7:00 PM.

And Easter Sunrise Service on April 1, 2018 at 6:00 AM. We will have two guest speakers John Weisbrod and Royce Wheeler. Then we will have Breakfast. Come join us and see what you might have been missing.

Wednesday March 14, 2018

I was unable to be in two places at one time. And it seems that work got in the way of attending mid-week devotions.

I hope that someone will post a reply and let me know what I missed.

Sunday Evening March 11, 2018

The evening service was started off by asking for prayer requests, of which there were several as several of our regulars were absent this evening.

After Prayer the congregation sang the following songs.

“When They Ring the Bells of Heaven”, “If We Never Meet Again”, ” I Believe He’s Coming Back”,

John then sang a special “In That City”

Carla Sang “Search The Book Again”

Then Peggy was called on the Phone and asked to listen, while the song “Turn Your Radio On” was sang with the phone on speaker mode.

Then John and Carla sang “When the Saints Go Marching In”

and To wrap up the singing John and Travis sang “When He Was On the Cross”

Pastor Gregg then gave us a good sermon from Ezra Chapter 3 talking again about rebuilding the Temple and the Offerings that were started before the Temple was completed.  And asking are we busy building the Church.

The evening service was closed with the song “Where Could I Go”

Sunday Morning March 11, 2018

Sunday School was started by our pastor and we opened with a prayer, and pledges to the flags and bible.

Sunday school classes took up and our adult class was studying 1st Samuel Chapter 17, the story of David and Goliath. John led a very good discussion, and there was a lot of good instruction. It seems that we have a really hard time getting through our Bible Study class.

We did have one birthday to celebrate Carla Moseley seems to have turned another year older,

After class we had congregational singing and sang “What a Lovely Name” “Heaven’s Jubilee” and “I’ll Fly Away”

John did “Almost Persuaded”

Carla and Autumn had a really good rendition of “He Knows My Name” at least that is what I know it as.

and Sara sang “Amazing Grace”

Pastor Moseley then delivered a moving Message Taken from Haggai Chapter 2 verse 18. that he titled “Think about This” talking about the laying of the foundation of the Temple. and comparing that to the the birth of Christ.

We only had 12 in attendance today but it was a real blessing to me.

Hello Ava Missouri and The World Wide Web

This website and blog is for and about the Happy Home Freewill Baptist Church.

A challenge was issued to each of one of us that attend the church to think of an idea that they would be willing to do, that would help grow the church.

After quite a lot of thought I came up with the idea of putting a website up for the church. Here is the fruit of that idea.

I can only hope that it may at least let someone that did not know anything about our church have some idea of what to expect when they attend.

We are a small church and we are looking forward to meeting you and enjoying your fellowship.
